Pelaksanaan Kinerja Roomboy di Best Western Premier Panbil Batam

Akomodasi perhotelan merupakan salah satu bagian dari sarana dan Prasarana dari pariwisata serta tumbuh pesat di Batam, yang termasuk jenis akomodasi adalah hotel, motel, bungalow, wisma, pondok wisata, cottage, vila, apartemen, karavan, perkemahan,dan kapal pesiar. Batam merupakan kota industri dan pembangunan, sehingga hotel-hotel disini dapat berkembang dengan pesat, termasuk Best Western Premier Panbil Batam, yang ikut berperan dalam dunia pariwisata dan akomodasi di Indonesia. Hotel Best Western Premier Panbil Batam memiliki beberapa department, yaitu: (1) Front Office Department (2) Food And Beverage Department (3) Housekeeping Department,(4) Accounting Departement, (5) Personalia /Hrd Department, (6) Engineering Department, (7) Marketing Department, (8) Security Department. Dari penjelasan di atas penulis memfokuskan pada Housekeeping Department, Housekeeping merupakan salah satu department yang terdapat pada sebuah hotel yang mempunyai fungsi dan peranan penting untuk mewujudkan tujuan yang akan dicapai oleh hotel. Ditemukan beberapa masalah yaitu, kurangnya kerja sama roomboy dalam melakukan pekerjaan khususnya dalam membersihkan kamar tamu, roomboy tidak saling membantu dalam pekerjaannya, di tambah Dengan efektivitas skill yang kurang dari roomboy, sehingga menyebabkan waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk membersihkan kamar menjadi lebih lama, karyawan bekerja tidak sesuai standar operasional prosedur, pemakaian aminities yang berlebihan yang menyebabkan over budget di housekeeping departement, terjadinya kecelakaan kerja pada saat menggunakan obat pembersih ketika membersihkan kamar mandi, dikarenakan kurangnya perhatian karyawan terhadap keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja. Seperti di dalam hal membersihkan kamar tamu. Hal-hal inilah yang menjadi penyebab adanya komplain dari tamu karena kinerja roomboy yang kurang memuaskan dalam pelayanan kamar tamu hotel.
